Trying to Find the Positive in the Negative

It is so difficult to work through a painful situation and deal with all the emotions that are literally consuming us and have someone emotionally detached from the situation try to tell you that “ There are no accidents, only experiences to grow and learn from”.

I remember an example given to me in 2004 by Maitreya. He brought up the concept of homosexuality. I had heard him speak about the term “gay” before from a perspective of his dislike for the term because of the negative connotations (from an earth plane perspective) that the word had. He proposed that people that chose this lifestyle should be called “Free” because they had truly set themselves free to be true to themselves against the norm’s of society and the fear from family, friends and peers.

I had grown up in the 60’s and 70’s and society was very harsh to this lifestyle for many different reasons of which I am sure each of us has their own experiences. Coming out of the Navy in 1980, the AID’s issue was just coming to the surface in the US. Millions had died outside the US, but it wasn’t until 1981 that the Center for Disease Control in the US had isolated the virus to 5 young men who happened to be actively “Free” using Maitreya’s terminology. Unfortunately this setup the perfect “Us versus Them” scenario, meaning society versus the alternative lifestyle and therefore not a lot of attention or resources was given to this illness. President Reagan took office in 1981 and he didn’t even mention the word AID’s in public until 1985 and didn’t give his first major AID’s speech until 1987. Millions outside the US had died and we had lost about twenty thousand by that time to what he termed he later termed “Public Enemy Number One”. From that time forward through the 90’s we were losing between twenty to forty thousand souls per year to this ravaging disease.

If you want to get a feel for the times on all levels, rent the movie Philadelphia with Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington accompanied by the great music of Bruce Springsteen. Bottom line, with no focus or funding early on, this illness reached epidemic proportions that took an incredible toll on many lives that probably could have been prevented… or was there possibly a bigger picture with these courageous souls just playing a role.

Back to Maitreya in 2004 explaining how we, on the Earth Plane often miss the bigger picture, because the emotions prevent us from seeing the positive through the negative. He explained the whole purpose of this devastating illness was the Universe’s way to bring awareness to this alternative lifestyle. This enabled emotions such as anger, pain, grief and despair to come to the surface to be cleared on a soul level. It allowed things like paranoia, ignorance and discrimination to be put on full display so society could evolve and learn.  I am not proposing all the paranoia, ignorance and discrimination has been fully eradicated, but 2013 looks a lot different than when Maitreya spoke on this topic in 2004 and we’re light years ahead of the 1960’s.

As Maitreya said back then, if you look at the Aura of people in love, you will find no difference whether they are man/woman, woman/woman or man/man; the universe knows this, hopefully one day all of mankind will also.

When times are really bleak because the emotions are engulfing you, try to find that positive in depths of your negative, it may be the only thing that can save you.
